While you're away, deputies from Precinct 4 can keep an extra eye on your home to help provide peace of mind—all at no cost to you.
📝 How to Request a Vacation Watch
To request a Vacation Watch, fill out the online form here. You’ll be asked for a few details to help deputies monitor your home effectively:
- Will you leave any lights on?
- Are pets staying in the home?
- Do you have an alarm system, and will it be armed?
- Will anyone have authorized access to the home?
- Will any vehicles be left in the driveway?
- Who can be contacted in an emergency?
👉 Submit your request at least 3 days before your departure.
If you’re leaving sooner, go ahead and complete the form, but also call the Precinct 4 dispatch line at (832) 927-6200 to expedite your request.
Please also update the Constable’s Office if your plans change or if someone new will be checking on your home.
Tips for Keeping Your Home Safe While You're Away
- Notify Your Alarm Company: Let them know you'll be out of town and list Precinct 4 as a contact.
- Use Light Timers: Timers can help your home appear occupied by turning lights on and off at set times.
- Leave a Car in the Driveway: A vehicle can deter burglars—just be sure it’s locked and empty.
